Cuba for Cheap!

¡Hola! ¿Cómo estás? While we’re not typing this from the beautiful country of Cuba, we really wish we were. In fact, many people wish they could be typing away on their laptop from Cuba. Well, we have some good and bad news for you. The bad news is that Cuba’s wireless infrastructure isn’t great, so typing away on a blog might be easier to do once you’re home. The good news is that we’ve found a great blog post that goes over how to get to Cuba for cheap. $50 a day in fact. This post is found on the blog Rachel Travels.

The first thing to consider is that Cuba is not as cheap as one might think. While in Cuba you will be using the CUC currency (Cuban Convertable Pesos). This currency is approximately 1:1 with USD’s current inflation. This is one of 2 currencies in Cuba. The other currency is that of the CUP (Cuban Peso). This is worth much less than the CUC and is important to keep in mind. You can convert your CUC to CUP if you’re doing anything not touristy like buying street food.

Travelling to Cuba for cheap is not easy but we believe that it’s more than possible if you go in with a lot of planning in advance. Much like understanding the currency there are so many aspects to travelling for cheap that’s incredibly important to keep in mind. Rachel travels breaks this down very well in her blog. She even has a picture of the total breakdown in her blog.
